APR #17 recipe

Jenn at Just Add Water Silly (isn't that a great blog name?) is hosting the weekly Artists' Playroom (APR) #17 and this week's theme is "altered recipe".  I'm sure it means altered artistically, not a recipe that I changed or improved (since I'm not much of a cook).  A simple digital entry:

This is the best cornbread ever - moist and full of flavor.  Well, why not with all that butter and cheese and even corn in it?  Try it, you'll like it! :)

  3. This recipe looks great, but I have never seen cream corn in the shops here, perhaps I could use a substitute.... Valerie

  4. Wow! I will pass this along to my son who loves to try different cornbread recipes to treat us with. He is our gourmet chef of the family and has a restaurant guide called Yumbly.com Great colors, too, on the card.

  5. OH yum! We've been looking for a good from-scratch cornbread recipe - don't like the jiffy mix and many of the originals we have tried tend to be dry. SO glad to have this one! Lovely picnic illustration as well, and polka dots are always delightful:-)

  6. Oh Gosh! This sounds delicious and I LOVE the picnic illustration. Lovely job. The week got away from me this time. I hope I can make next week's challenge. This was excellent--down to the polka dot paper! :)

  7. I'm going to have to check out if my local store stocks some of these ingredients because I've heard about corn bread for many years but never tried it.
Now thanks to you Terrie and your beautifully illustrated recipe I'll be able to give it a go. It certainly sounds tasty! ;D

  12. You can't go wrong with ANY recipe that has butter in it. I could never be a vegan because I'm so in love with butter and cream! I will try this recipe, but it will have to wait awhile. I'm not turning on my oven for ANYONE until this heat goes away. Like maybe November (grin). Hope you are all well now!
