This year I'm sure much of my creativity sharing will be my continuing 365 collage challenge but I'm going to try to mix it up a bit and explore some other avenues - I have some photo ideas that have been floating around in my brain for weeks; maybe now is the time to let them free!
My creativity yesterday was in helping a friend with some interior design issues. We talked about new furniture and what colors she could incorporate; we talked about mixing woods in the room to break up the matching country look she has going on now; we talked about how to update her look but staying in her comfortable transitional style; we talked about how to introduce some pattern using something other than toss pillows. It was so fun to exercise that part of my brain and skills! (since there's not really a photo or visual to share of this experience, I'll share a couple pics of other stuff)
Last year I made these place cards for Thanksgiving dinner using pinecones, some wire and photos of everyone attending with a little doodled/zentangled edge design. They were a hit.
As Leah says in her intro and "rules" - there are no rules; be creative in whatever way you have time: try a new recipe, arrange flowers in a vase, doodle while you're on the phone, write a poem or haiku, dance a new dance......and then share it if you'd like. She has a flickr group and Mr Linky on her blog every day so you can meet new creative types and see what they're up to. (Don't think you can participate every day? That's totally okay; join in when you can!) I can't wait to see what you create this month!
On other news, my car had its third major meltdown in 6 months, so we decided it was time to get something newer instead of pumping money into the black hole my car was fast becoming. So a couple weeks ago we went car shopping. Getting a new car wasn't exactly in the plan right now so we had to shop for something pretty affordable - I ended up with a 2012 Kia Soul and we had a sunroof added to compensate for my lost convertible (which really isn't practical in Seattle anyway).
Love those pinecones and your *new* car is cute! Happy AEDM!
ReplyDeleteThat car really suits you Terrie...great colour. I love the Kia range of vehicles. Pinecones work well.
ReplyDeleteOh, new cars are so fun! They smell great and have new gadgets to play with. Love the green - I wanted a CRV in that color but it didn't happen. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll try AEDM this time around. Might keep me from plopping my butt on the couch with a book after work!
What a great idea for place cards, so cute family photos. You look darn good in the soul. I think that little car is rocking! xox
ReplyDeleteHi Terrie,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's good to be part of AEDM again! I love those pinecone place cards and may make some for Thanksgiving!!
Oh, I'm sorry not to be participating in AEDM this year but it just isn't going to happen. So glad you're keeping it going. Your new car is adorable. The two of you make a cute couple!! xx
