Cindy found this treasure for me and I thought about it for about ...... 10 seconds!
This wonderful old book is a 1923 reference edition of type styles - apparently a seminal book of the time. I paid $10 for 1100 pages of beautiful type samples - less than a penny a page - for collage fodder for years to come. The binding is absolutely falling apart but the pages are mostly in very good condition (though it does smell like an old basement).
I looked online and one sold on ebay for about $50 and they're available on Amazon for $85. That's not enough of an incentive for me to give up this most excellent find. Thanks again Cindy!
Isn't it amazing? There are many types of paper used throughout the book presumably to show how color and type react to different surfaces. I'm just in heaven!
What a find! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous book! The fact that they used various papers in it is really cool. I'll be interested to see how you use all the different stuff in it.
