Jenn at Just Add Water Silly is hosting the 18th weekly APR (Artists Playroom) and the theme this week is pears. She loves pears and draws and paints them so beautifully. Pears happens to be one of the few things I can kinda draw - I'm not going to have time to do something new this week (son's accident and doc appts are taking lots of time and I'm planning a big party this weekend - more about that later) so, here are some I did a while ago. These are all in watercolor....
This is a digitally manipulated image (duh).
Here's the original photo.
I actually have a collection of pears in different textures etc. in my kitchen - here's just a few of them.
So, if you enjoy painting, photographing, collaging, sketching or eating pears, this is the challenge for you (though she'll take any fruit) - join in, won't you.
Talk about over achieving... it is pear mania over here and I am kind of loving that... the drawn ones are my favourites though, and the one in the bottom right corner of the second one is awesome... I would frame that... hope that you are getting through everything... have been thinking of you...xx
ReplyDeleteLovely work! I wonder what is so fascinating about pears? I had a phase where I painted them daily, then changed to bottles - must dig them out again! Valerie
ReplyDeleteFab artwork Terrie, your pictures are beautiful. LOL I have to be honest and say pears are not one of my fave fruits but I do love the shape of them. Hope you are OK honey, been sending you lots of happy thoughts.
ReplyDeleteHugs x x x x
Gorgeous Pears Terrie...I love them. xx
ReplyDeleteI love your pear collection! Hope all is going well with your son. Fun watercolor pears--the blocks of color remind me of Warhol.
ReplyDeleteHOPING HEALTH CONCERNS ARE GETTING BETTER. I LIKE YOUR PEAR STUDIES AND YOUR COLLECTION OF PEARS, TOO.
ReplyDeleteWow... what a collection of pearliciousness! I love them all. I hope things get better for your son. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I do like that manipulated photo of the pears. I love that shade of green. Warmly, Tracy APR #10
ReplyDeleteOoh yummy pears..... I especially like the second in the series with the four pale pears. Nice collection of pears too! What is it about fruit that is so appealing and so difficult to draw as well. Hope your son is doing well. xox
ReplyDeleteYou really had fun with all those pears!
ReplyDeleteI hope your son is better and better.
Have a super weekend. :)
So many pears, do you have nightmares? They are all fabulous. The digital one is really good.
ReplyDeleteI hope your son recovers quickly.
Von.
Hope everything in your neck of the woods is ok, hope son is getting better. Thanks for posting these, it amazes me the loyalty my APR has engendered, I had thought you just wouldn't have time but you did it anyways, and hey, it's not like older art gets mouldy like actual pears would , it's just as fresh and beautiful as the day you created it. Thanks to the over achiever of the week!!
ReplyDeleteLove,
jenn
Love, love, LOVE your pear post, Terrie! I do hope all is well with your son. xo
ReplyDeleteAwesome watercoloured pears. Also like the ones from your kitchen. You like pears then? ;)

You know how much I love your photography. The pears that live in your kitchen are awesome. All are great, but I really like the last ones best! BTW, am I the only one who couldn't get on Blogger yesterday? Very frustrating, since I could get on other blogs and web sites, just not BLOGGER.
ReplyDeleteterrie - i like all your pears, i'm partial to the digital ones - i love playing with my computer, editing and changing things up - so this one speaks to me :)
ReplyDeleteGreat set of PEARS!!!
