I started by using some PSE filters: paint daubs and cutout to simplify the shapes and make it feel a little painterly. Then I added Old Linen Shirt at linear dodge 25% for the canvas like texture. Medieval Magic at 65% soft light then duplicated and at saturation 75%. I haven't used the saturation feature before and it actually reduces the saturation, not increases it which seems counter intuitive. But, I like the softer, older coloration in this version.

The texture layers I used from Kim heightened the colors and warmed the image overall. SUCH different results. And so much fun to just keep endlessly playing and learning.

ReplyDeleteOh you are right both versions are so different. The muted one reminds me of a 1960's type photo. The brighter version is quite lovely.

ReplyDeleteWow, such differences - this is interesting, thank you for posting it, Terrie. I have to say that I like the "Kim version" a bit more which is mainly due to the fact that I am a color person (and especially autumn colors).
