I'm trying to teach myself watercolors and have been working on it off and on for a couple years. I used this worksheet to explore different edges and wash techniques with a simple shape I knew I could draw/paint.
I'm playing in the Paint Party Friday for the first time. I really enjoy seeing what others are painting/creating - it's inspiring.
I love all the variations to this, especially the second one with the splatters. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF (and welcome to PPF, too!)
Stephanie
Welcome to your first Paint Party Friday! :) Love what you're doing with the watercolors. I've been watching Youtube videos on this technique but hadn't actually tried it out yet. For some reason I find watercolors very difficult to paint with.
ReplyDeleteI only recently discovered watercolor myself back in December making cards for the holidays and fell in love. They're quickly becoming one of my favorite mediums.
ReplyDeleteLove the pears. It awesome how you can achieve so many different vibes from one object.
Great first PPF!

ReplyDeleteI'm teaching myself watercolors, too! Wonderful job with your pears! They're beautiful. So fun to experiment!
Welcome to the party (albeit a very late one thanks to Blogger!!) I like the different takes on the pear showing the different techniques and outcomes you can achieve with watercolour. I have a lot to learn about that medium too as I mostly use it as I see fit and not as you are probably supposed to! Hey, that's what arts about though, eh!
ReplyDeleteHi Terrie, nice to meet you and have fun with PPF. It is a lot of fun! I love your pears and the different techniques you used. Looks great! Enjoy your weekend and great 1st PPF!! Woo Hoo!!
ReplyDeleteSince this is your first PPF, I'll be your first follower. Yay!!
ReplyDeleteLove the different takes on the pear. The first one seems to shine.
ReplyDeleteMy favs are the upper right and bottom left. The upper one for the clear bright colors and the bottom one for just the opposite, the softly blended tones. Just keep playing around with the WC, you are doing really well. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to practice, plus you end up with a really interesting picture!
ReplyDeleteI love this! You could frame this just as it is! Beautiful! I love seeing different styles.
ReplyDeleteYour water color work is really good. Airy and light and such soft color. Beautiful!
